  I bought other Mephisto shoes in the past with worse quality, but this one has pleasantly surprised me. Had it for almost a year and it’s been quite comfortable. The quality of leather is excellent. The only quirk with this brand is sizing - it runs large, I had to go one size down from my regular size.

  This is my second pair of these shoes (I have them in black and blue). I wear them to work every day. I bought my first pair on sale at a premium store in WA state with a name that starts with Nords####. ;) I am very happy I did because they are great quality and I was able to figure out the right size in person.I typically wear mens 8.5 or 9 wide (EE). I wear size 8 in these and they fit me wonderfully. They are very comfortable and feel already broken in right out of the box.I mentioned the great quality. My original blue ones are about 2 years old now and look and feel like the day I bought them.Since these, my wife bought a different style of Mephisto shoes and they are now he “go-to” shoes as well.I know they are expensive, but as long as they last and how good they feel, I will choose quality over quantity. That said, I do have a couple pair of Mephisto shoes on my Amazon “wish list” if anyone is feeling generous. Ha ha…

• Picky picky picky

  You get what you pay for. These shoes are light, flexible, and comfortable. These are my, "khakis and button-down shirt at the office shoes." Dressier than Chuck Taylor All-Stars because of the leather uppers. Far less dressy than my cap-toe Alden Oxfords. These are my 3rd pair of Mephisto shoes, so I guess I'm a convert. They always seem longer than the size indicates, but they do fit. I usually wear a 10 but buy a 9.5 in this brand.

  The pair I received didn't match the photo (of the black shoes) - the ones I received have a white bottom which I like better. The quality is very high. The laces do wear out quickly.

  I have been wearing mephisto exclusively for over 20 years - sneakers, dress shoes, and casual shoes. This is my first disappointment!! The shoe was not designed or manufactured to Mephisto’s normally high standards. The leather was flimsy and the sole thin. There was almost no support, virtually no cushioning, and no lateral or side to side stability. Worse than my old Chuck Taylor all-stars! Then I learned that they were made in Brazil - not in the usual factories - big mistake.If I hadn’t worn them twice, I would be sending them back. This is a big rip-off.
